The Message August 2007 Volume 1 Issue 1

Jill - This is a sample Newsletter so you can see what a layout would look like.  It was a letter I helped Jaena Moynihan create for her website.

Welcome to the very first issue of my new monthly newsletter, “The Message”. If you are an established client of mine, I want to say THANK YOU first of all; because of your support, I am able to explore the most creative aspects of myself by bringing together information that helps others spiritually. If we have not had a session together, thanks for reading this!

I am a spiritual medium, as most of you know. I communicate with angels, spirit guides, ascended masters, and many other spiritual beings in order to assist clients in finding relevant information that can help them create happier lives for themselves, find closure, and explore themselves in new ways.

I enjoy educating others about Spirit and look forward to creating many more ways of doing so. Please feel free to join the new community on my website; it’s free too!  I hope you enjoy this newsletter. Blessings,

This Month’s Focus

This month’s focus will be on my favorite subject; connecting with Spirit. I personally feel that my mission on this planet is to dedicate my life to helping others connect with Spirit in a tangible and meaningful way. I believe that we all need to know that there is something bigger out there than ourselves that we are playing an integral part of. When we think about it, we realize how infinitesimally small we really are in the larger scope of things. The ironic thing is that even though we wouldn’t even be detected under the ‘cosmic microscope’, Spirit reminds us that we are SO important in grandest scheme of things.

Just like cells in a body, we co-create simultaneous experiences that place the universe in a perpetual cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth. Feeling connected to a sense of that unity is vital for feeling some kind of balance in an otherwise uncertain existence. We all feel uncertain at times; it’s nice to know that a Higher Power, one that is friendly, gentle, and loving is guiding us through the sometimes-tumultuous journeys of life.

Connecting with Spirit is an incredibly simple thing really. It’s as easy as speaking with the intention of addressing Spirit and what that concept entails. Not everyone seems to think so as this month’s poll demonstrates. Read on…

Monthly Poll

Each month I will be conducting a poll to see what the people who find their way to my site think and believe. In this month’s poll, I asked if you thought that connecting with Spirit was:
A) Absolutely simple
B) Reasonably easy
C) Difficult but doable
D) Impossible for you

Here are the results:
A) 36.4% difficult but doable
B) 22.7% reasonable easy
C) 20.5% say impossible
D) 18.4% absolutely simple

It’s important to remember that Spirit hears us perfectly each time we address them; we are the ones who seem to think we have trouble hearing what they’re saying. If we look around, we can see their answers in the simplest of things.

The New Look of Jaena Moynihan.com

I decided to create a new logo for my business upon the launch of my new website. I went with the concept created by the fractal artist, as well as my boyfriend, Keevin Simpson. Keevin creates art that incorporates sacred geometry, fractals, and other spiritual elements. He is also an Aura Soma®.When he showed me this picture, which is an element of one of his prints, I knew it was what I had been looking for.

Keevin says, “The Flower of Life is an ancient symbol that has been depicted around the world for thousands of years and easily represents sacred geometry.  It has been the inspiration for many other geometrical symbols such as the Cabbala’s Tree of Life.

I chose the Flower of Life due to the various platonic solids that it contains and it’s form. I drew the flower of life as it is typically drawn, but felt it necessary to show some of the inherent shapes within and included the two inverted triangles, otherwise known as the Star of David. I had already decided that I was going to use color and have seen the Flower of Life colored in many different ways. After analyzing the piece for some time I made a direct correlation between the number of independent, whole “flowers” created with the Flower of Life and the 7-chakra system typically used today. I decided to start with the base chakra at the base of the Flower of Life and follow it clockwise; ending with the crown chakra in the center. I tinted the chakra colors slightly to make the piece more cohesive. The Star of David was colored pink to represent the often-utilized Sacred Heart Chakra and the pale blue was used for contrast.

Ask Jaena!

Each month I take a question from the Ask Jaena! area of the message board on my website to answer. This months question is from Robin in MT. She asks,

“Just wondering if you would give me some insight as to when I am going to know & be sure that I have connected with spirit?”

Connecting with Spirit is as simple as addressing them with the knowledge that they are listening to you. Spirit receives our messages perfectly and without fail. If you see someone you know through a two-way mirror, chances are they won’t see you but that doesn’t mean you are any less there, only separated by a thin sheet of glass. It is like this with Spirit. They are ever aware of our presence and they love us immensely; they want us to notice them. If you needed to make contact with that person on the other side of the glass, how would you do it?

Would you tap on the glass or shout or send a note with someone to that person, letting them know you were there? The point is, we only have to look for the way that Spirit answers back. There are many ways that they can communicate, the easiest being thought. They generally will plant an idea or message in your mind but often times it is mistaken as a fleeting thought or random piece of imagination at work. Most messages go unrecognized. It depends on how receptive one is to receiving the message. Something that helps is to state out loud, addressing Spirit, your request and also affirm that whatever pops into your mind first is relevant to what you need to know.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a picture of a frog; just trust that it will mean something. Also, if you hear something more than once, like a song on the radio and then someone humming it, that could be your message. Spirit often repeats things for emphasis. You don’t have to hear a voice in your head to connect with Spirit; you only need a receptive heart and an open mind.

“Botanical Insights”

This month’s botanical insight is about the art of smudging.  Smudging is a method of clearing excess etheric and/or psychic energy by fanning the smoke of various burning herbs and resins in a designated space. It’s basically blessing a place so that it attracts energies of Source-level frequency. Here are the basic tools you will need for smudging:

• Smudge stick- you can find one at most metaphysical shops or herb stores.
• Lighter or matches
• Feather (optional)
• Positive Intentions

To smudge, simply light the smudge stick (usually made of sage or combined with sage), let it burn for a moment, then blow out flame in order to make the herbs smoke. Fan the smoke around the room or object you wish to clear and say the following prayer:

“I call upon the angels and ascended beings of Light to help cleanse this space (or object) of any discordant energy and ask that it be filled with the Love and Light of the Most High. So be it.”

Smudging is a great thing to incorporate into your spiritual practice; I do it daily. It’s important to connect with Spirit each and every day even if it’s the smallest acknowledgment of their presence. They don’t need much permission to step in and lend their energies, but they do need your permission.

In the next issue, I will be introducing my new assistant who will be starting work with me later this month as well as talking about our next topic, “Using Your Intuition”. Have a blessed month!
